how-to for online strength coaches who leave intent notes during deload weeks
How to write deload week notes clients actually follow
Deload-week notes work when they are one finishable intent line on the lighter session—not a recovery essay buried in chat.

Lead with one intent line the client can follow
A useful deload-week note sounds like keep every set easy, or leave two reps in reserve—not a paragraph of recovery theory. If the client cannot apply the intent while training, shorten it. This is a writing method for the deload note itself, not a cool-down closer writing method.
Put the note on the deload session, not in chat
Even a perfect deload instruction fails if clients have to dig for it while loading the bar. Attach the note to the lighter session so it appears when the workout opens.
Do not turn every deload into a recovery lecture
Long recovery write-ups and repeated mobility essays recreate review work during an already lighter week. Keep day-to-day deload notes to one finishable line. Save deeper recovery plans for programmed blocks or check-ins.
Keep the Lyfta nudge natural
When the one-intent-line rule is clear, a product like Lyfta Coach helps if the deload note sits on the lighter session instead of living only in a message thread.
